Safely in Port-au-Prince

The Haiti Orphan Relief Team arrived safely in Port Au Prince today, to begin our two week task of locating and mapping Haitian churches that can care for orphans. Our 11 member deployment team represents the dozens of ministries that have partnered with us in this mission.

Tomorrow we have key strategy meetings with Love Haiti and World Relief, which together represent over 200 church partners on the ground here. In addition, we will survey the damage at the epicenter and visit a tent hospital where many children are being treated.

Our accomodations have been generously provided by Pastor Gerald Bataille, who leads a congregation of 30,000 across 16 churches. The Haitian people have shown great resolve in coping with the conditions, and from our rooftop we have already heard songs of worship.

We have ample provision due to the great planning of our Incident Command Team, and we are full of faith and enthusiasm for the task ahead. Thank you for your prayers.
